We’re proud to share that SoBro has been tapped as one of the key partners to New York City to serve as a Resource Navigator sponsor agency.

Resource navigators will help make sure that people who test positive for COVID-19 are well cared for at home, have access to food and medicine, and are properly isolated. SoBro will be working in partnership with the Consortium for Worker Education. We’re always grateful for great partners!

The program will be run under the supervision of Jason Garcia, our AVP of Youth & Workforce Programs. I have every confidence he will do an outstanding job of serving our community and representing SoBro well. #bronxstrong #sobro #community #serve

I’m proud to announce that I have rejoined the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBro) as its new President and CEO.

I’ve worked at SoBro on and off since 1997 and am excited to return to lead this preeminent community and economic development corporation, which has served my community for almost 50 years. From the workforce to youth development, affordable and special needs housing, business and entrepreneurial support, and real estate development, SoBro has helped move this borough to the next level, and I am humbled to be able to lead it through the next phase of its journey.

I am the first woman and first Latina to lead this organization and I dedicate my tenure to all the amazing women who have mentored and supported me, and who continue to champion my growth—and to all the young women of color who want to stand on my shoulders to develop their own greatness.

I’m committed to making our community proud and I look forward to new and expanded partnerships. Let’s get to work! #alwaysfromthebronx #ceo #partnerships #economicdevelopment #lead #teamSoBro

At the UN’s Building Inclusive and Sustainable Cities and Communities Conference in Salt Lake City. I had the honor of moderating a panel on “Connecting for Stronger Communities”—exploring social and economic programs for re-entry citizens, youth programming and advocacy, and economic opportunities for MWBEs. Thanks to the Network Support Services and youth advocate Milka Rodriguez for sharing your powerful stories. #diversitymatters #partnerships #economicdevelopment #teamsobro #alwaysfromthebronx
