SoBro has more than 20 years of experience developing and managing affordable and special needs housing as well as commercial and industrial properties. To date, SoBro has developed more than 1,500 units of housing. Our current portfolio consists of more than 450 housing units and hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial, industrial, and office space in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.
SoBro’s housing development efforts include both new and rehab construction in partnership with the private and public sector.
Commercial development is also central to SoBro’s real estate efforts. To date, SoBro has built or rehabilitated almost 260,000 square feet of industrial, retail, and office space in the Bronx, creating jobs, attracting new businesses and residents, and facilitating our business assistance programs. In addition to its own development projects, SoBro has facilitated rezonings in collaboration with the NYC Department of City Planning in the underutilized neighborhoods of Morrisania, the Bruckner commercial corridor, and the Lower Concourse where industrial zoning precluded development.
