Jason Garcia will be featured on City & State’s first-ever Bronx Heroes list, which highlights the work of exceptional individuals whose bravery and dedication is keeping New York City going during a time of crisis.

At the outset of the COVID pandemic, Jason’s work quickly pivoted to virtual programming as he implemented a range of virtual activities to address our children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs. Under Jason’s leadership, almost 400 young people were served in the period that followed the abrupt closing of the NYC public school system through art projects, homework help, and educational enrichment programs accessible from the safety of our participants’ homes. Jason also coordinated the delivery of meals and PPEs to residents and seniors at the Davidson Community Center and has been instrumental in maximizing our efforts to help our community.

SoBro is proud to have witnessed such growth from this excellent person. His story serves as an inspiration to many, and he is truly a Bronx hero. A well-deserved recognition!

Jason will be featured in City & State’s August 10 issue.

When your former boss taps you on the shoulder and asks you to serve your state, you answer the call. I’m proud to have been appointed to the @NYGovCuomo NY Forward Advisory Board as we begin to get to work in supporting our governor as he gets New York ready to reopen for business. #newyorkstrong #nygovcuomo #SoBro #iloveny #smallbusiness

I had the chance to talk with NY1 about Bronx businesses, the challenges they are facing, and how SoBro can help. Thank you Amy Yensi, NY1 Bronx reporter, for a great conversation. Proud of the great work our business services team is doing—we are here to help. info@sobro.org. #Bronxstrong #teamSoBro
