Community Development

SoBro is committed to making the South Bronx affordable, economically productive, and healthy for our community. Our efforts include providing affordable housing and commercial real estate while leading urban planning initiatives to support the redevelopment of our vibrant communities.

Business Services

The SoBro Center offers entrepreneurs a diverse menu of business services including MWBE/MBE certification, procurement, commercial real estate, financing, and technical assistance.

Education & Career Development

To help our community thrive both academically and in the workforce, SoBro offers art classes, English and computer literacy education, vocational training, internships, job placement and retention services, and much, much more.

SoBro addresses all aspects of community development: helping businesses get started and grow, training residents to meet the needs of employers, offering opportunities for youth to learn and develop, and creating affordable housing and commercial space that reverses blight in the community.

SENDA Apartments Coming Soon!

Located within the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, this 45,000 square foot, mixed-use low- and moderate-income development combines the construction of 40 new apartments and a ground-floor church facility.

What's New in the Community

New Roads Plaza Apartments Coming Soon!

Located in the Morrisania section of the South Bronx, SoBro intends to construct 95 units of low-income and supportive housing with on-site services for special needs residents in partnership with Monadnock Construction. A portion of these units will be set aside for homeless individuals. The site comprises six city-owned parcels plus a parcel currently owned by SoBro.
