Esther Gonzalez has worked in an HR capacity for more than 15 years and has a passion for helping communities and working with organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. She began working with SoBro as a volunteer in November 2019 and seamlessly stepped into the role of HR Director one month later when the department was in need of new leadership.
Prior to joining SoBro, Gonzalez was the HR Program Manager at the Environmental Defense Fund. There she worked closely with senior leadership across multiple disciplines to establish and launch several endeavors including a new performance review process and several training and compliance initiatives.
Gonzalez’s ability to define and implement new processes was also a focus during her time at Starcom MediaVest Group, Accenture, and IPSA International. Her experience and skills allowed her to make a difference when transformational change was needed. Some of her accomplishments include:
Select participant for a global initiative whose mission was to develop and implement a multi-agency HRIS platform. The system was later adopted for use by 44,000 employees.
Spearheaded an employment initiative that addressed the need to communicate effectively with 800 consultants, and streamlined the hiring and payroll processes.
Member of a strategic planning team that defined company goals, objectives, and direction.
Traveled domestically and internationally to train employees on the use of new HR tools.
