After-School Programs
Excel & Achieve
Offers theme-based after school courses to students, ages 14-18, including graphic design, dance, video production, comic art, fencing, fashion and journalism.

Neighborhood Development Area Program (NDA)
Provides supplemental educational services to students, ages 13-18, including tutoring and counseling, as well as instruction in vocal performance, fencing and fashion design. NDA also involves students in leadership development, career exploration, violence prevention activities and community service opportunities. NDA is funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development.

The TASC 21st Century MS 216/217 and RISE with SoBRO
Provides tutorial services geared towards students who attend low performing schools. In collaboration with TASC, SoBRO aims to help all participants meet state and local academic achievement standards in core academic subjects.

Premiere Entertainment and Bronx in the 21st Century (BX21)
An opportunity for high school students, ages 14 to 18, and their families to continue to learn new skills and discover new abilities after the school day has ended. 21st Century is funded by the New York State Education Department and is a key component of President Bush's No Child Left Behind Act.

Out of School Time for Youth (OST)
Offers supplemental educational services for high-school students and six theme-based late-night after-school programs for middle school students per semester. Programs include vocal training, piano instruction, digital photography, sports/fitness, dance, and comic art. OST is funded by the New York City Department and is the largest after-school initiative in the nation. Students served per year: 130
School Day Programs
Global Enterprise Academy (GEA)
College preparatory school that utilizes business concepts as a context for academic education. GEA offers students a small classroom experience in which they can explore skills related to entrepreneurship and commerce. SoBRO works in partnership with GEA, a New Century School developed with support from New Visions for Public Schools.

Learning to Work (LTW) Program
Job readiness and career exploration program designed to enhance the academic component of selected public schools. LTW helps students earn their GED while leading them toward rewarding post-secondary employment and educational experiences through internship placement, service learning projects. LTW is funded by the New York City Department of Education.

Summer Youth Employment
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)
Provides seven weeks of entry-level work experience throughout the summer. SYEP is comprised of two summer programs: the Stand-Alone summer program and the WIA In-School Youth summer program. All youth age 14 to 21 in the tri-state area are eligible for the stand-alone summer program, and all youth enrolled in the Excel & Achieve program are guaranteed summer employment.

Out of School Youth Programs
SoBRO’s YouthBuild Transformation Academy
Serves out-of-school youth, ages 16-24, with on-the-job construction trades training and GED preparation courses. YouthBuild not only helps prepare clients for quality employment, but also teaches valuable life skills through promoting team-work and providing a dependable support base.
