The Bronx Resource Initiative (BRI)

SoBRO and the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC) have established a joint entity—the Bronx Resource Initiative (BRI)—for the purpose of providing services to existing Local Development Corporations and emerging retail merchant organizations throughout the Bronx. In communities that are not represented by a formal association, BRI will assist individuals interested in creating new organizations.

The BRI’s mission is to expand community-based organizations’ capacity to support merchants through the provision of technical assistance. BRI develops fiscal, material and intellectual capital by strengthening an agency’s infrastructure, enhancing its ability to provide quality services and market itself. BRI seeks to enhance non-profit groups and start-ups whose focus is business attraction, expansion and/or area marketing.

The BRI provides comprehensive services to stabilize and strengthen organizations. These include workshops, referrals, and one-on-one assistance designed to help organizations identify best practices and innovative strategies. Our team understands that each organization is unique and hence will tailor services according to the needs of individual clients.

BRI services include:

  • Organizational Development (Organization Set-up, Board Creation and Training, Organizational Evaluation, Budget Design and Evaluation, Program Development and Evaluation,Quality Assurance, Strategic Planning)
  • Capital Enhancement (Fundraising Strategies, Resource Management, Sponsorship)
  • Image Creation (Conference and Events Planning, Media Relations)
